Introduction

Water management is a crucial factor in farming, especially for pineapple cultivation, where too much or too little water can negatively affect growth. Traditionally, farmers rely on manual irrigation methods, which can lead to water wastage, uneven watering, and increased labor efforts.

To address these challenges, we developed a Smart Irrigation System—a technology-driven solution that automatically waters plants based on real-time soil moisture levels. This system ensures that pineapples receive the right amount of water at the right time, improving crop health while conserving water and reducing manual work for farmers

Objectives

To create an automated irrigation system specifically for pineapple plantations.

How It Works

The Smart Irrigation System operates using soil moisture sensors and an automated water pump. Here’s how it functions:

  1. Soil Moisture sensors are places in the field to continuously monitor moisture levels.
  2. When the soil become too dry, the system automatically turns on the water pump, ensuring the plants get the water they needed.
  3. Once the soil reaches the ideal moisture level, the system automatically stops watering, preventing over-irrigation and water waste.
  4. The system runs continuously, ensuring that pineapple always receive the optimal amount of water for healthy growth.
